Abdul Kabir Hussain Solihu is a professor of Islamic Studies and Comparative Religion at Kwara State University, Malete. He obtained B.A. degree in Islamic and Arabic Studies from Al-Azhar University, and M.A. and PhD degrees in Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage (Usul al-Din & Comparative Religion) from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He also obtained postgraduate diploma in Human Sciences from IIUM. His areas of specialization include Islamic Thought, Comparative Religion, Religion and Ecology, Environmental Ethics, and Qur’anic Studies. He has also developed an interest in computational linguistics. He has authored and co-authored several publications and one commercialised product, ROTAS Transliteration Kit. He formerly served as an academic staff in the Faculty of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences (2003-2016) and Editor of the Intellectual Discourse journal (2012–2016) at IIUM. He also served as Director of Kwara State University Press (2017-2020) and Dean of the Faculty of Arts at Kwara State University, Malete (2019-2023). Abdul Kabir Hussain Solihu is a member of several professional associations, including Nigeria Association of Teachers of Arabic and Islamic Studies (NATAIS), Nigerian Association for the Study of Religions (NASR), and Nigerian Environmental Society (NES). He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of KWASU Journal of Religious Studies, Director of Centre for Research and Development at Kwara State University, Malete and President of Ilorin Emirate Professors’ Association (2024-2026).
